  JWism retaking control of wife's family

  a situation regarding this religion has developed which i fear might have negative implications on me and wifes lives, and i'm looking for thoughts and advice in how to approach the situation.

  i'll start with some background information to enlighten the situation.. i'm a male in mid-twenties, raised secularly, married to an ex-jw woman (on paper still a jw though), who's been raised in the jw religion, although somewhat untheocratically shall i say.

  for instance her mother has 5 children with 3 different men, all non-jws, and has had many other relationships as well.

  My wife knows enough to know that it is not true, but she still believes.

  
  That the key right there. They need to know "Enough" to know it's not true.

  That take research and time, lots of time. When I was in, I saw the bullshit, but it took commitment and lots of time to research thoroughly the Organization and compare it to what the Bible actually teaches. Most people don't have the training to do that kind of research. It was until after I went to College that I learned how to research. It took me about a year of intense research to finally come to the realization that the WT was a cult. There are no short cuts.

  How strong were you in “The Truth?”

  when you were still asleep in the watchtower organization and had no idea of ttatt.

  what would you have done if you were in a serious accident and all of a sudden you woke up in the emergency hospital room with all the brothers and sisters at your side and your spouse cheering you on to be faithful to jehovah.

  then the doctor comes up to you and tells you that you are about to go into surgery because there is no time to lose and the only way to live is to take a blood transfusion ?

  When I was 10, I had an appendicitis attack and went from normalcy to excruciating pain within a couple hours. Off to the hospital we went I'm powerless. I just want to live.

  We forget how powerless children are in the Borg Twitch.

  My strength was tested when my 4 years old daughter became ill, and the Doctor

  told me she may have Sickle cell anemia. I thought screw this if she needs blood,

  blood she will get. My wife called the Elders to come and talk with me, she was willing

  to let our daughter die.

  James, all Jw parents have no idea the danger they put their children through because of being in the WT organization

  I considered myself a 'good' witness but this was a subject I didn't want to think about the reality of...picture ostrich with head in sand. I think that is true for a lot of witnesses. They just don't like to think about the reality of needing a blood transfusion and really, most never face it.

  You’re right fiddler, witnesses don’t think about the reality of needing a transfusion until it happens and then it’s to late

  Fortunately I didn't die then and got to bring up my baby.

  That's a big deal, I knew a few who did refused and died. that was about 40 years ago. They missed out on a lot. Now I feel sorry for them. They had no idea.

  What would you have done if you were in a serious accident and all of a sudden you woke up in the emergency hospital room with all the brothers and sisters at your side and your spouse cheering you on to be faithful to Jehovah.

  Then the doctor comes up to you and tells you that you are about to go into surgery because there is no time to lose and the only way to live is to take a blood transfusion ?

  Would you have been willing to die and leave your family just to stay faithful to Jehovah? Or would you have succumbed to a lack of faith and taken the blood?

  Aren’t you glad you never had to deal with it?

  As Jesus prepared his eleven faithful disciples for his imminent departure he promised them;

  "If you ask (me) anything in my name I will do it." (Jhn.14:14)

  Although the word "me" has been omitted from the NWT the Interlinear shows that it was in the original Greek text. It is found in the oldest and most reliable manuscripts.

  I did not know that, I learned something new today. I am also going to use this info. with some of my JW friends.

  Demons

  this isn't a joke and i don't post here often but i had a conversation with my grandma i found comical and thought i'd share.

  my uncle lives far away and my grandma wants to go visit him but says she is afraid of the demons in his rental home.

  she is afraid a demon might follow her home.

  Strange Moment During The 2015 Regional Convention

  hi, i'm new here but hadn't seen this mentioned anywhere yet.

  during the "imitate jesus" rc there was a strange moment where they played a video of a brother trying to explain the 1914 teaching.

  the brother quickly goes through all the scriptural "proofs" and the householder is dumbfounded.

  They keep the date 1914 but get rid of the mathematical chronology and rely solely on the "composite sign" for proof. Not sure how they would explain this

  Have to keep the date 1914 because so many things are tied to it. Satan was cast out of heaven, the last days started, Jesus started ruling, the organization was chosen, critical times hard to deal with are here, the preaching work in the last days that separates them from the rest of religions.

  When they finally drop it (and it will be huge, because they've based their entire religion on it), witnesses will rejoice.

  Or maybe not. In trying to reasons with several of my JW acquaintances about 1914 , and that sooner or later they will have to drop it because of the length of time, they all tell me, "That can never happen, because if they do, then the organization was just a sham, a false prophet." I asked them, "If they do will you continue to stay in the organization?" They have all said, "NO WAY"

  I'd claim anonymously, via trust,if I won big now. Winning would bring out all sorts begging/demanding and I'd worry about my safety. If I couldn't claim anonymously, I'd have a plane ticket booked and leave for 3 months minimum.
